Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog hop hosted by the amazing Lisa at Honeybearz Designs! This is my 3rd year of participating in this hop. I get so excited each and every year to sign up to participate! I would like to personally thank the amazing Elf Lisa for hosting such a fun event. This year I am doing something different. I am going to post a different DIY Holiday Christmas bulb using simple craft supplies. I hope that you will come back everyday to see all 12 Ornaments. I have been hard at work in Santa’s Workshop to bring you fun projects each and every day! Before we go any further though I want to make sure that you stopped here after visiting our Guest Elf- Connie HERE if you need to start at the beginning be sure to click HERE.
Before we go any further I would like to wish you all a Very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you all enjoyed your family time and think about all of the things that you are thankful for.
For my 3rd ornament I decided to do the same technique with the paint, but decided to put a spin on things and add a second color. This created a fun swirl look. I took my plastic bulb that I bought at the Dollar Store and poured Pink paint inside and swirled it around, I wanted it to look a little bit different so I also added white paint and swirled it around. I then tipped it upside down in a paper cup to allow the excess paint to drain out of the bulb. I allowed it to dry. I then put the top back on it and added some black ribbon. I took the end of my sponge paint brush and dipped it in gold paint to create the polka dots on this cute ornament. To add the finishing touch I added this super cute doll head charm that I purchased at Michaels.
I am in love with how this turned out! Here is a close up of the Pink Swirl and Gold Polka Dot Christmas Ornament. What are your thoughts?
I hope that you liked todays ornament. Be sure to pull out those old Christmas bulbs and up-cycle them. Be Creative in what you do, and do what you love. I know that this elf sure had fun in her workshop creating this cute bulb.
Next up in this hop is the super talented ELF- Ashley be sure to check out what she is making in Santa’s Workshop.
