DIY 18th Birthday Party

DIY 18th Birthday Party- I have to say that I really enjoyed getting all of the supplies together to create this fun Birthday Party for my daughter.  I knew that she didn’t want me to go crazy, but she wanted something sophisticated and yet fun.  I decided to go with the colors Gold and Salmon with touches of Black and white.

I was extremely excited to be able to use the ABC Punchboard by We R Memory Keepers to create her name.  I cut her name twice.  Once with Gold glitter paper and once with Salmon Cardstock.  I then cut the gold right down the middle with each letter and adhered them to the Salmon cardstock creating one letter.

My mom had this beautiful gold sequin table-cloth from my brothers wedding that she let me use, along with the crystal cake stand and the two buckets in the back.  I purchased this awesome Party in a box kit by Pink Paislee that came with the banner (above) confetti pieces, placemats, place cards, straw toppers, cupcake toppers and cute little treat bags.

We had a little bubbly to celebrate (Sparkling Cider)  I used disposable champagne glasses and three different flavors of bubbly. We had different treats on the table, along with some cute little cupcakes. I didn’t use cute cupcake liners and should have (next time I will know LOL) I also put up a photo of her when she was little with cute gold angel wings, added some balloons and there you have it . A small but sophisticated party for a girl to turn 18!

I feel old, wow! Yes, I have an 18 year old.  She used to threaten that she couldn’t wait to turn 18 because she would move out and have her own rules and her own place.  I have to laugh out loud because that has all changed.  She realized fast enough that moving out and being on your own takes a job and money. How can she do that when she still is in high school and going to night cosmetology School and doesn’t have a job? Oh the joys of being 18!!! I need to enjoy every moment of her being here because I am going to be hating it when she graduates and does have a good job and does move out! But hey, that is for another blog post right? LOL!!!
