Christmas Neighbor Gifts….

Hello Friends….. many of you saw my post on Facebook and Instagram. I am creating some fun neighbor gifts this year.  I purchased these as kits from Poppy Seed Projects.  Be sure to check them out HERE….

You will love this Kit!!! I stumbled upon this store while riding with my husband to one of his Brick and Rock suppliers.  I knew I had to go in. So I made him drop me off while he went to the Supply house.  And Whoop Whoop!!! You Guessed it!! I found this cute store!!!

Here are the fun Neighbor Gift that I made.

This is what was included in this kit:(I bought 3 kits)

This little chalk board art prints make for the perfect Christmas neighbor gift, or an ideal accent piece for mantels and other decorating motifs.  Easy to make with trendy results.
KIT CONTENTS: 1 sheet of card stock with 6 chalk board art prints.  6 plaques of wood measuring. 3.5″ x 5.5″.  Also available as a print only kit.
Not included but purchased Additional at Poppy Seed Projects Supplies:
These are the items that I purchased separately from Poppy Seed Projects

What is NOT Included in the kit that I used from my stash:
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Blending Tool
  • American Crafts Ribbon
  • Sandpaper
Here are the Steps to make these cute blocks:
  1. The wood comes ready to paint. I painted two coats of paint onto the wood. Allowed it to dry. (I used the colors Avocado, Antique White and Cherry Red)
  1. While wood is drying I took my cutter and cut the Chalkboard pieces apart.
  2. After drying I took my sandpaper and sanded the blocks.
  3. Take your Tim Holtz Distress ink and blending tool and ink the front and backs of all of the blocks.
  4. Take the amazing Poppy seed Projects print mounting glue and a foam brush and brush the full block with glue.
  5. Take one of the chalkboard pieces and place onto the block.
  1. Use the print mounting glue once again and paint over the top of the chalkboard sentiment.
  2. Allow to dry overnight (Do not stack on top of each other the glue needs to dry completely)
  3. Take some yummy Christmas Ribbon and tie around the blocks into a knot at the top.
I have to say that I love everything that Poppy Seed has to offer at their store! I love that they hold classes to teach you how, sell the kits so you can make them at home, and they will ship to you too!!!! Be sure to check out Poppy Seed Projects!!! Click Picture to Shop!!!
