DIY Shabby Chic Christmas Ornaments.....

Hello friends! Today I have a couple of fun Christmas Ornaments that I would like to share with you today! I used some amazing Timeless Twine!!! You are going to want to get your twine today!!!Be sure to check out Timeless Twine HERE!!!  And check out the blog HERE!!

Let's get right down to business. I bought these fun ornaments at Wal-Mart for $0.49 each. They are foam balls. I bought two little guys and one big one.  I knew immediately how I was going to make them.  Let me show you the ornaments first and then I will tell you how I made these sweet little shabby chic Christmas Ornaments.

Here are the products that I used to create these fun ornaments:

  • Washi Tape four different kinds
  • Robin's Egg Paint from Poppy Seed Projects
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut
  • Tim Holtz Blending Tool
  • Gold Glitter
  • Mod Podge
  • Fabric Flowers
  • Straight Pins
  • Metal Embellishments
  • Twine from Timeless Twine
  • Metal Charms
  • Lace

Here is a quick tutorial for you to make your own Washi Tape and Twine Christmas Ornaments

  1. Take the Foam Ornaments and wrap the ball with Washi. (I did a different type of technique on each ornament) On one I wrapped the ornament with all of the same Washi. The next one I tore bits and pieces covering the ball with 4 different types of washi, and the last ball I use two different types of washi. Giving each of them their own unique look but still making them look the same.
  2. Press the washi so it is down flat.
  3. Take the distress ink and ink the washi
  4. Pain the ornaments lightly with a Robin's Egg color paint
  5. Allow to dry
  6. Add Embellishments
  7. Use Mod Podge and add Glitter.
  8. Take Twine and tie small bows on each of the ornaments
  9. Using another color of twine take the charms and tie them onto the ornaments giving them more delicious shabby chicness!!
  10. Add Straight Pins
  11. And your Ornaments are complete

I hope that you liked my ornaments that I made today using the fabulous Timeless Twine!!! Be sure to check out their blog and Store to get your fabulous Timeless Twine Goodies!!!

Christmas Neighbor Gifts....

Hello Friends..... many of you saw my post on Facebook and Instagram. I am creating some fun neighbor gifts this year.  I purchased these as kits from Poppy Seed Projects.  Be sure to check them out HERE....

You will love this Kit!!! I stumbled upon this store while riding with my husband to one of his Brick and Rock suppliers.  I knew I had to go in. So I made him drop me off while he went to the Supply house.  And Whoop Whoop!!! You Guessed it!! I found this cute store!!!

Here are the fun Neighbor Gift that I made.

This is what was included in this kit:(I bought 3 kits)
This little chalk board art prints make for the perfect Christmas neighbor gift, or an ideal accent piece for mantels and other decorating motifs.  Easy to make with trendy results.
KIT CONTENTS: 1 sheet of card stock with 6 chalk board art prints.  6 plaques of wood measuring. 3.5" x 5.5".  Also available as a print only kit.
Not included but purchased Additional at Poppy Seed Projects Supplies:
These are the items that I purchased separately from Poppy Seed Projects

What is NOT Included in the kit that I used from my stash:
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Blending Tool
  • American Crafts Ribbon
  • Sandpaper
Here are the Steps to make these cute blocks:
  1. The wood comes ready to paint. I painted two coats of paint onto the wood. Allowed it to dry. (I used the colors Avocado, Antique White and Cherry Red)

  1. While wood is drying I took my cutter and cut the Chalkboard pieces apart.
  2. After drying I took my sandpaper and sanded the blocks.
  3. Take your Tim Holtz Distress ink and blending tool and ink the front and backs of all of the blocks.
  4. Take the amazing Poppy seed Projects print mounting glue and a foam brush and brush the full block with glue.
  5. Take one of the chalkboard pieces and place onto the block.

  1. Use the print mounting glue once again and paint over the top of the chalkboard sentiment.
  2. Allow to dry overnight (Do not stack on top of each other the glue needs to dry completely)
  3. Take some yummy Christmas Ribbon and tie around the blocks into a knot at the top.
I have to say that I love everything that Poppy Seed has to offer at their store! I love that they hold classes to teach you how, sell the kits so you can make them at home, and they will ship to you too!!!! Be sure to check out Poppy Seed Projects!!! Click Picture to Shop!!!

Ugly Sweater Party 2014

Hello friends... I would like to share with you a different type of post today! Over the weekend we had two Christmas Parties. One on Friday night and one on Saturday night.  The one on Friday was super fun! Jake's Family Christmas Party!! Yes we ate and yes the man in the BIG RED SUIT came too!!! However what makes our family parties unique is that each year we do something charitable.  This year we decided to do a Coat Drive for "The Road Home" All of the families were asked to bring some old coats/blankets that they had laying around that could help out people in need.  I am super excited because this teaches our children that we can help others by doing the little things. All we had to do is clean out a closet or two, and we are helping many babies, kids and adults in need.  What a great party! We also played Dodgeball! Ok..... I have to say so, so, so, much fun!!

Ok now what is this other Christmas Party that I speak of??? Well are you in for a treat!!! My Sister and her Husband started this fun Christmas Tradition 6 years ago! All of you I a sure have heard of the Ugly Sweater Parties right??? Well, that is just what this is!!! Everyone has to wear an Ugly Sweater and they have to bring a white elephant and a pot luck to eat!!! We have a blast at this party!!! I wanted to share this quick video of our fun! If you have yet to attend or host an Ugly Sweater Party I strongly suggest that you go to one or host one! This is a Blast!!!! I hope that you enjoy this fun video! Merry Christmas friends!

Here are a couple of pictures from the party!!!

Here is my projects for day 9!!! I created a fun snowman ornament!!

I love how easy that this cute ornament was to make!! I used a glass ornament, Salt, Black Paint Marker, Yellow Paint Marker (That is what I had on hand), two red pom poms, and a piece of green ribbon.

To make this is easy. Draw black eyes, and mouth on the ornament. Then take the yellow and draw the nose. Allow to dry. Take the ribbon and hot glue it to the ornament, and take pom poms and glue to the ornament. Then take a funnel and add the salt to the ornament. Put lid back on and tie a small ribbon in a knot on the top of the ornament.

I just love love how this turned out!!!
